Weddings at Brecon Castle

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage...

From intimate gatherings to large weddings, Brecon Castle is ideal for the bride and groom looking for a traditional venue with professional service and old-fashioned values. The hotel is an historic site linking back to the foundation of the town; a coaching inn, which grew out of the ruins of the castle and in 1809, became one of the first modern hotels in Wales.

The Castle retains the warmth and character of a coaching inn and the Regency Ballroom, with the adjoining remains of the Great Hall of Brecon Castle, is undoubtedly the most attractive and historic venue in Mid-Wales. The Brecon Beacons dominate the town and provide a picturesque backdrop to our ballroom and our gardens.

The team at the Castle is made up of dedicated professionals and our aim is to provide you with a day to remember. The food and service that we offer are merely a part of the total service that we provide to all brides. We understand that the cost of a wedding reception can escalate and endeavour to ease your budget by providing a tailor-made package to suit your needs.

Your perfect day at Brecon Castle...

If you are looking for a beautiful and historic setting for your wedding, then the marriage of great service, award-winning food and a choice of either contemporary or traditional Georgian and medieval surroundings is exactly what you want.

We have a small team of experienced staff who will attend to your every need. We are here to advise and we will tailor our services to your personal requirements to ensure that your day is how you always dreamed it would be....perfect.

The Castle has two rooms approved for Civil Wedding Ceremonies:

The Regency Ballroom is a grand and beautiful room on the ground floor with stunning views out onto the mountains and can accommodate larger ceremonies of up to 200 guests.

The Crug Room is ideal for smaller intimate ceremonies of up to 60 guests.

Once pronounced "husband and wife" you may wish to wander into our South-facing terrace (weather permitting) with the backdrop of historic Brecon Castle and amazing views up to the Brecon Beacon mountains, which will provide the perfect setting for your wedding day photographs.

Alternatively, there are many beautiful areas of the hotel that are equally appealing.

Whilst you have your photographs taken, your guests will be well looked after in the bar lounge, the ballroom or the Castle's gardens as they enjoy their champagne reception.

After you have re-joined your guests the wedding breakfast will be served in either the Regency Ballroom or, for more intimate weddings, the Morgan Lounge, the Castle Lounge or the Crug Room.

We can happily accommodate wedding events be they small and intimate or for parties up to 200 and provide overnight accommodation.

Our Regency Ballroom has been newly refurbished in delightful shades which complement whatever colour scheme the Bride may wish to choose.
Our venue is increasingly popular for those who have chosen to get married in the nearby Brecon Cathedral, those who have chosen a civil ceremony and those who have ‘tied the knot’ abroad.

The Regency Ballroom...
is available for wedding breakfasts and seats up to 180 people and comes complete with its own private medieval bar and lounge which can accommodate a further 50+.  Evening parties, buffets and hog-roasts for up to 200 people are also available in this room.

The Crug Room and Restaurant...
cater for between 20 and 60 people.

The Morgan Lounge...
is available for more intimate gatherings of 15-20 people.

Whatever you choose, ring us to arrange a meeting to discuss all aspects of your ‘special day’ and see the quality of the facilities we offer. A full wedding brochure is available on request.

We have a number of inclusive wedding packages available. Alternatively you may wish to discuss your individual requirements with, or request a wedding pack from, our events department. Please telephone 01874 624 611 or email: noel@breconcastle.co.uk
